Singing workshop with Deborah Catterall

A workshop led by Deborah Catterall, a conductor of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain
On 27 January, participants of Redditch-based singing group Indigo Arts had the opportunity to work with Deborah Catterall, one of the conductors of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
Deborah led the young people in a rigorous warm-up, teaching them new ways to reach high notes and sing well together as a group. The young people had the chance to learn a new song in several parts and worked with Deborah on a piece they were learning for their next performance.
The workshop was part of a country-wide outreach scheme by the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. Its aim was to give participants an insight into what it is like to be a member of a National Youth Choir and to encourage them to consider auditioning for one of the eight National Youth Choirs.
