Telling Tales Date: 01 - 06 August 2005 Location: Bishop Perowne High School, Worcester A summer holiday music and drama project for young people aged 9 - 13 During the 2005 summer holiday, 36 young people aged 9 to 13 took part in Singworks’ second summer holiday project. During the week-long music and drama course the participants worked with singing leaders Sue Hollingworth and Jon Payne and director Vicki Hackett to learn a specially commissioned play about the life and stories of Hans Christian Andersen. Telling Tales, by Paul Birch, wove together a number of Andersen’s famous stories, accompanied by traditional music from many of the countries he visited. The young people performed their play to a large audience at King’s School Theatre on Saturday 6 August. The performance was part of the Worcester Three Choirs Festival. Everyone involved in the project enjoyed it enormously. One participant wrote: “I’ve really enjoyed this week. It’s been fun.
