Melody Monkey's Marvellous Music Box in Worcestershire

Music making for Early Years children across Worcestershire
This exciting project gave Early Years children the opportunity to find and develop their voices and other musical skills. The project introduced children to Melody Monkey’s Marvellous Music Box, a music-making resource including songs, games, instruments and puppets, specially designed for Early Years children.
A team of experienced singing leaders led music-making sessions for pre-school children in every library in Worcestershire, and in nine Early Years settings across the county. In addition, the singing leaders trained approximately 35 staff within Worcestershire Library Service and the Early Years Settings to continue the work once the programme had finished.
The sessions in the libraries took place between February and July 2005.
The project was a partnership between Singworks, Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Early Years and Childcare Advisory Service, and Worcester Sure Start. It was funded by Youth Music.
Melody Monkey workshops also took place as part of Skills on Show at County Hall, Worcester on 9 and 10 July.
