Worcester Cathedral Junior Choirs
Date: 12 January 2008 - 28 July 2011 Time: Girls: 9.30am - 10.30am, Boys 10.45am - 11.45am on Saturday Mornings Location: Choir School of Worcester Cathedral. A chance to discover how exciting it can be to sing together
Worcester Cathedral's Jonior Choirs give girls and boys aged 7 to 13 the opportunity to enjoy singing a wide range of music (not just traditional Cathedral music) led by highly experienced Cathedral musicians. There are two groups, one for boys and one for girls. There are no auditions for young people taking part. The Junior choirs will give performances in the Cathedral and further afield. Sometimes the boys' and the girls' choirs will perform together and sometimes separately. Members of the choirs will sing songs in many different styles and will explore singing in two or more parts. They will have the chance to learn to read music and play enjoyable games to develop a range of musical skills. Boys and girls do not need to be able to read music before they join. Both groups take place in the Choir School of Worcester Cthedral. We expect participants to make a firm commitment to their group and attend all sessions. Awards will be given for consistent attendance.
